March Break Part 1

We headed out to Myrtle Beach for March Break on Friday, March 10th.  We left in good time, missed a snow storm that was two hours behind us and pulled into a hotel in Front Royal just before midnight.  After checking in, Tony went to move the car and it wouldn't start.  It stayed in that spot for the night.  Tony was worried, and stayed up for a large part of the night trying to figure out what to do.
In the morning, he started the car and it started without hesitation and after meeting up with our friends we were off.... even though there was a Ford dealership 1 mile away.

We got about 40 minutes into the drive when our car stalled at a light and wasn't moving again.  We were able to pull over to a gas station.  We waited an hour for a tow truck and learned that there wasn't a dealership around with anyone to look at our car until Monday.  Fortunately, the tow truck driver told of us a dealership that could see us.  Off we went.  Just around 11:30, we discovered it was a transmission problem and couldn't be fixed that day.  Also, there wasn't a rental car available.

Panic began to set in.  We were able to borrow the dealership's loaner but couldn't take it out of state. Finally, we found a rental car place over an hour away that had a car for us.  The dealership kindly had their parts guy drive us there and we were once again off on our trip to Myrtle Beach.

The boys absolutely loved the tow truck ride... sitting up front without seat belts in a very small space!  For sure a highlight for the boys!  A huge shout out to Mike the Tow Truck Driver that saved the day!
