Happy 10th Birthday Griffin!

It's hard to believe my baby boy is 10 today!  For his birthday he really wanted a double bed for his bedroom!  He was surprised to come home yesterday to find his new bed set up in his room!  He was thrilled and loved his new bedding as well!

Grandma and Grandpa arrived yesterday to help celebrate.  We headed to see the movie Power Rangers in the afternoon and then were headed out for dinner in the evening until Griffin got sick.  It put a damper on his birthday dinner out but we were still able to celebrate today at Boston Pizza!

Griffin was feeling really disappointed that he wasn't going to have any present to open on the day of his birthday but was tickled to find a few gifts to open including a basketball hamper from his brother!

Later in the day after hockey, lunch and a trip to Pitch and Hit, we arrived home to find Marci here to help celebrate Griffin's 10th birthday! He was thrilled!

Next weekend will be his laser tag/nerf gun battle sleepover birthday extravaganza! He is really looking forward to celebrating with his friend!

Happy birthday to our little boy that brings so much love and laughter into our lives!

My Birthday!

This is the first year we weren't driving on my birthday!  We were actually home, went to see Beauty and the Beast and then out to dinner!  It was nice to be home with the boys to celebrate!

The end of the Road!

It was check out time... and we still hadn't heard if the parts had arrived for the dealership to fix our vehicle. We were packed and ready to drive and crossing our fingers we weren't going to get stuck in Virginia!

At 4:30pm on Friday we received the good news that the car was fixed and covered under warranty!

One of our Favourite Days in Myrtle Beach

We left around 10 in the morning and didn't return until 10 at night!  We had a full day of fun!  Outlet shopping, Krispy Kreme donuts, arcade, walk on the boardwalk, dinner at friends and swimming!

Griffin absolutely loves arcades... you can see from this picture just how much.  This was top of his list of things to do on our vacation and he was lucky enough to go twice.

The sun came out and we enjoyed it as much as possible!

The boys did the rope course and zip lining!  The both loved it!

Myrtle Beach... More Memories

We had a great time on our vacation no matter the weather or the car problems!  It is always nice to get away and just spend time together!

 Our view
This will be a favourite memory for the boys.... dropping 20 + froggy parachutes over the balcony and watching them drop!

Our last walk on the beach.... even though it was the warmest day we still had on coats!

One of my favourite things to do is shop and Myrtle Beach has lots of great shopping including Target!
 Another game of mini putt!

Another stop at Johnny Rockets... Griffin sang and danced and was given a Johnny Rockets pin because he did such a great job!

Myrtle Beach Part 3

Owen loves to walk the beach and search for shells and shark teeth.  This year, he waited patiently to be able to do so, but the first few days it was just too cold to go walking.
One we got out there, we had fun but weren't successful in finding any teeth, but we sure how fun looking for them.

We headed to Nacho Hippo for Taco Tuesday with four families.  We went to this restaurant for the first time last year and everyone wanted to head back.  It was a great night, and the restaurant and area are wonderful!

Myrtle Beach Part 2

After arriving late to Myrtle Beach we were also greeted by very cold and rainy weather!  The forecast had drastically changed from warm and sunny to cold and rainy.  A bummer! Fortunately, there are many things to do in Myrtle |Beach and our resort has two indoor water parks and we had lots of friends to hang out with!

The weather didn't keep the kids away from the beach!  They didn't last long, but they were there!

Mini Putt is always one of our favourite activities to play when in Myrtle Beach!  There are over 20 courses to chose from!

Griffin had a blast at Johnny Rockets restaurant.  He loved the milkshakes but he also loved the singing and dancing and performed along with the staff!

March Break Part 1

We headed out to Myrtle Beach for March Break on Friday, March 10th.  We left in good time, missed a snow storm that was two hours behind us and pulled into a hotel in Front Royal just before midnight.  After checking in, Tony went to move the car and it wouldn't start.  It stayed in that spot for the night.  Tony was worried, and stayed up for a large part of the night trying to figure out what to do.
In the morning, he started the car and it started without hesitation and after meeting up with our friends we were off.... even though there was a Ford dealership 1 mile away.

We got about 40 minutes into the drive when our car stalled at a light and wasn't moving again.  We were able to pull over to a gas station.  We waited an hour for a tow truck and learned that there wasn't a dealership around with anyone to look at our car until Monday.  Fortunately, the tow truck driver told of us a dealership that could see us.  Off we went.  Just around 11:30, we discovered it was a transmission problem and couldn't be fixed that day.  Also, there wasn't a rental car available.

Panic began to set in.  We were able to borrow the dealership's loaner but couldn't take it out of state. Finally, we found a rental car place over an hour away that had a car for us.  The dealership kindly had their parts guy drive us there and we were once again off on our trip to Myrtle Beach.

The boys absolutely loved the tow truck ride... sitting up front without seat belts in a very small space!  For sure a highlight for the boys!  A huge shout out to Mike the Tow Truck Driver that saved the day!
