1st Place in Cross Country!!

This boy continues to amaze me!  He has taken control of his health and fitness and is in top shape!  He works out every morning, trains for his running and puts his passion to do well in all of his sports.
Today he came in first at the ASG Cross Country meet and by a long shot!  Off to District!

Joe, Katie and Vince Visit!

Our friends Joe, Katie and their son Vince came for a visit from their new home in California for a long weekend.  They use to live a few houses down while they were here on an exchange from the USA Airforce.
It was great getting to visit them and get to know their son.  Vince was just 6 months old when they moved away!
The weekend was jam packed with dinners and parties.  The boys even had the opportunity of spending time with Vince getting to know him.
Griffin took Vince to the tree planting event in the park across from our house and jumped on the trampoline for hours!

Spacer Gone.... Hello Braces!!

The much anticipated ortho visit came and Owen was thrilled to learn he was getting his spacer out!  The enjoyment only lasted minutes before we learned the next step was braces!
Yikes, this boy wasn't happy!  He actually walked out!
This picture of Owen and his doc says it all.... forced smile... not happy one bit!

The 3 Hour Tour!!

Our friends the Lees bought a new boat this summer and we had been planning to go out on a dinner date night all summer but it just never happened.  Luckily we were able to squeeze it in while there was still nice weather in September, in fact HOT weather in September.

It certainly was the 3 Hour Tour.. anything that could go wrong, went wrong!
From the boat not starting, to getting it boosted, to finding out Bill just didn't hit the right button.
Dinner was awesome on the patio beside the water.  We maybe stayed a little too long because we were enjoying it so much.  We ventured out for our journey home into the dark.
Not much before we were back to our dock, the boat starting to make funny noises like it was running out of gas.  Bill decided to stop into the marina just to be sure.... it was closed and the gas bar wasn't open.  Fortunately I had a friend with a boat right there.... and they had gas!!
Off we started again... it wasn't the gas.  We quickly pulled into the first dock before we were stranded. A 30 minute walk later and we drove the truck back to get the boat.
Oh what a night!  Certainly a night to remember!

Justin William's Memorial Cup Tournament!

Owen's hockey team and their new coach (Tony Bird) went into their first tournament very hopeful!  With each game they won, you could feel and see their confidence building.  Teams they had never beat before, they were beating!
The boys made it all the way to the final!  They didn't come out the winners but they certainly decided that weekend that they were contenders for the season ahead.
We are all looking forward to an exciting season!
Go Bulls Go!

First Day of School for All of Us!!

Oh boy..... the dreaded first day of school after a wonderful summer!  First days are always a little different for our family because it is the end of a period of time where the boys and their mom get to spend the entire summer break together!  They have never had to experience attending day camps and being babysat.  They look forward to the adventure their mom has planned all summer long!

This first day back was a little different. This year mom was teaching at their school.  We were reunited again after spending two years at different schools!  I'm not sure who was more excited.... but I am guessing me!
I love being able to spend time with them, and seeing what they are learning and participating in at school.  I love keep my eye on them, and being able to run them to practices right after school.

So this first day of school is one for the memory books!

Owen's Summer Time Favourite!!

Owen just loved his Coke Slushies this summer!
And the roll up the win chance to win!  Summer time love!

Last Weekend of Summer!

For our last weekend of summer we tried to hit all of our favourite spots!
We headed to the drive in on Friday night!

On Saturday we spent the day in Kingston.  We went to our favourite bakery, burger place for dinner and wandered around downtown before heading to Costco to pick up supplies for back to school.

On Sunday we headed to the County to have lunch at Crepe Escape.  We had been wanting to try it all summer.  It was Delicious!

Then we headed to Milford to the jumping bridge.  The boys have discovered quite a few over the summer and this was the last one on our list!  It was a perfect day!  The boys had a blast jumping and swinging on the rope!

Good bye summer!  Thanks for the memories!!

Last Day in Nova Scotia

On our last day in Nova Scotia we visited Mahone Bay, home of the three churches.  We spent the last two nights at a resort called Atlantica.  The boys thought it was awesome staying at a resort.... they're were activities, geo caching, movies outside, fire and smores and lots of swimming!
