Halloween Pumpkin Carving

 Pumpkin Carving is a highlight of Halloween in our house.  The boys could not wait to get home to be able to carve their pumpkins.  They used their ipads to search for the pumpkins they wanted to carve.

Owen decided on a skylanders pumpkin and a menacing face.  He did a great job carving the menacing face all by himself.  He got a little bit of help from his dad to complete the skylanders pumpkin!

Also... if you haven't noticed, this is the first picture we have of Owen with his teeth showing in his smile!  Hope it is the first of many more to come!  He looks great!

Griffin thought he wanted to do a Ninja Turtle pumpkin, but decided on a Grimm Reaper (surprised at what a grimm reaper really was when he googled it), and for his second pumpkin he carved a scary face throwing up which he thought was just hilarious.  This was definitely his year... Griffin was Mr. Independence and wanted to do it all by himself!

First Star

Both boys had 2 games in Toronto this weekend.  Needless to say it was a busy weekend, racing from rink to rink and driving the hwy.

Sunday was a great day for both our boys.  Owen was chosen as First Star for his game.  A very proud moment for him and for us as well.  Owen has been working hard, and his efforts were defiantly evident this weekend. 

Griffin also had a great day, with his team winning his game on Sunday 5-3!

 

At the Apple Orchard!

 

One of my favourite family traditions is taking the boys to the apple orchard in the fall.  The boys love it there too!

Boy they are getting big!

 Picking pumpkins and carving them are one of our favourite Halloween traditions.  We picked out 4 pumpkins and we are really looking forward to carving them this week!

Phantom Farm

 Each year, I look forward to some sort of spooky fun!  This year, we decided to take the boys with us to Phantom Farm.  As you can see, the LOVED it just as much as me.

We went on the haunted hayride.  We sat up front, and were spooked, scared, and taunted!  The whole time Griffin laughed and laughed!  Most of the scary characters came back for Griffin twice, probably because they didn't like that he was laughing and not scared! 

 There is also a haunted house, that the boys just can't wait to go in next year!

Great start to the season for this hockey guy!

Griffin had a great hockey weekend! First his team took on Oshawa yesterday and came out on top 5-3. Not to mention he played awesome!!  

Today he played Cobourg at home and not only won 6-1 but got his first goal!

Awesome effort, and hustle from this little guy!

Sneak peek

We had our annual fall family photos taken by Jenna this week. Owen really wanted his new kitten gizmo to be in our photos and Jenna was only to happy to oblige. This picture is just adorable! A great keepsake for Owen!!

Hockey boys!

Griffin had his first official league hockey game on the weekend. Boy was it ever an exciting game! He was playing Ajax and it was an evenly matched game and a lot of fun to watch. They didn't end up winning but it wasn't for lack of trying! Should be an exciting season. 

Owen received his team uniform this weekend and couldn't wait to try it on! Looking good!

Soccer champ!

This was Owens first year to join sports teams at school. 

Needless to say he was more than excited until his first practice and he was the only grade 4 that came out.  From then on he really didn't want to go. 

Perseverance got him through to the tournament and had him come home a champion. A day off school for a tournament and a win made his day!

First Win!

Owen played Ajax last weekend and his team got their first win!

Very exciting for this team. Sorry I missed it, I was with griffin and his team. I am sure there will be many more!

The long awaited day!

Today Skylanders trap team was released and Owen had been waiting for months!

We got there early. Waited in line and conquered once the store opened!

Wallop was the one he really wanted and he got the one and only!

One happy boy!
