Our Terrific Kid!

Today Griffin received the Terrific Kid award for responsibility!

We're very proud of this little guy! First month at a new school and he is already being recognized for being a good student!

When chatting about it tonight he commented that he wished his old school had this award too because he would have racked up the medallions!

And now he is going to try to win 9 more for each month left of the year!

Way to go Griffin!

Hello Autumn!

Nothing says autumn like a trip to Campbell's Orchard!

As much as I'm going to miss summer there sure are a lot of great things about fall.

To start us off we love going to the orchard. Picking apples, "eye to the sky", playing in the hay, feeding Wilbur the pig, apple cider and of course candy apples!

I've since made two batches of apple crisp. A new favorite for Owen!

Hockey Season Has Begun!

Friday started Griffins hockey season. He is playing Novice AA.

We headed to Kingston to watch the boys get their first win. Griffin also got his first goal of the season!!

It felt great to get back to cheering, ringing my bell and have my heart pumping as I watch an exciting game!

Go Bulls!

Back to school Done!

This week we went back to school. A new start for all of us. The boys and I were going separate ways for the first time.

This was also the boys first time taking a bus. So far they're not to too happy about the bus. Their driver seems a bit odd. I'm sure it will get better!

Griffin has two of his hockey teammates in his class and Owen has 1.

Owen is starting grade 5 this year. Griffin is starting grade 3.

Squeezing in every bit of Summer!

This past week was about squeezing in every little bit of summer! And some of our favorite things!

We headed to the beach where the boys soaked up the sun on this long weekend. We went to the all nighter drive in to watch a couple of our favorite summer movies.

Griffin tried out the bike park when we were visiting grandma and grandpa. We hit sky zone another time. I got to visit with my girlfriends from home. And of course some back to school shopping!

Yesterday after hockey practice ( yes I said hockey), we headed to the county to make the most of beautiful weather on the last weekend of summer.

We headed to the beach, and then to surf burger where we had been wanting to go all summer and then to the drive in!
A way to end summer!

We also got to work at the fair for a hockey fundraiser for Owen's team.
I must say we were not looking forward to it at all. 20 hours at the gross fair in the heat. But it actually turned out to be quite a bit of fun!

It was a great way for parents to get to know each other and make some money for our team.

Good bye summer! I can't wait for next year!!

September 1st..... That time again

I know I know, we teachers get a long holiday each and every summer. But that never makes it easier when September rolls around and you realize it's time to go back!

I've already been into school getting things ready. I have been busy on Pinterest gathering fun ideas for the first week!

This year is a new beginning for all of us. I am going to a new school and so are the boys.

This will be the first time we will be apart.
I'm pretty sure it's going to be a very big adjustment for all of us.

For now I'm just to enjoy our last week!

BMXing

Griffin has taken an interest in learning to BMX ride and do tricks. Earlier in July he wanted to investigate purchasing a bike. We discovered they are quite expensive.

We also discovered there was a bike park near my parents. Yesterday we went for the first time.

Needless to say, he loved it! However he realized it was a lot more challenging than he had thought! But he's ready to go again!

Owen gave it a try too!
