Cruising is the Life for Me

Tony and I had a great getaway on our cruise at the beginning of the month. We sailed on the Celebrity Solstice which is a new very modern ship... and it was absolutely fantastic! It there were only one complaint it would be that this is a cruise for older people.

The ship left from Fort Lauderdale where we had a day to visit. It is an american version of Venice. So beautiful...but HOT!!

We sailed to San Jaun, to St. Thomas, to St. Martin. Our favourite port was St. Martin. We just loved it there. We rented a jeep with another couple and toured the island. The downtown shopping area was really nice and it was along the beach. There were great little places to stop and have a drink. We then went to the airport. It is the coolest airport ever. We had heard about it from a neighbour who is a pilot. The plane actually flies a few feet over your head on the beach and then lands.

We drove to the french side to have lunch and found a french bakery. It was delicious. We ended our tour at the Orient Beach (nude) and it was beautiful. A fantastic day!

In St. Thomas we rented a jeep as well. The roads are really narrow and you drive on the left hand side of the road. This island certainly isn't kept as well as St. Martin. It does however have on of the top 10 beaches in the world "Meghan's Bay" which is absolutely beautiful!

We made some great friends on the cruise and we hope to keep in contact with them and visit soon.

I loved San Juan as well. The buildings were beautiful and I had a lot of fun shopping1

Lake George

We took the boys to Lake George, NY this summer for a short mini vacation. I had heard lots of great things about and that there were some neat things for kids to do there including six flags amusement park.

The drive there was very scenic. I am positive Tony's new GPS purposely finds the most out of the way route to wherever we are going. This route took us through the adirondacks on a mostly one lane highway.

When we made it there, we headed straight to the countries creepiest amusement park ever!! Magical Forest was the weirdest place we have ever been. We are certain all of the workers were shipped in from some strange planet almost like their bodies had been invaded. Santa was creepy and we probably shouldn't have let the kids visit with them..... we seriously had to do all of the talking this santa didn't say one thing to the kids.

The rides were in the same condition as they were when they first were purchased. The old man running the roller coaster had to give it a push to get it to go!

We did have a lot of fun, swimming, mini putt, shopping, eating... good times. The kids had a blast. On the way home we stopped at Water Safari in Old Forge and we had a blast!

Summer Fun

We have been busy and having lots of fun....
It is hard to believe that we are already three weeks in. I hate the feeling of the summer slipping away, but we have been having such a great time that it doesn't really matter, and we have so many more fun things planned!

We spent three days at my friends new cottage in Hanover. It was great to spend so much time with friends I rarely get to see anymore. I can't even begin to tell you how many memories were flooding back from the good old days when we use to cottage together before kids... I even had gone skinny dipping.. I know you don't believe it, but it was fun. This time it was a different kind of fun. It was great to catch up, and to have our kids actually get to know each other. By the end the kids were all very sad to leave.

Our lovie picture at the cottage!

The three year olds had a blast together! At this point they were racing to see who could swim faster! All three of them just started to really enjoy the water a week prior to this outing and we couldn't get them out of the lake!

Owen fishing with his dad for the first time. This boy loves animals... catching frogs, fishing, playing with the minnows, you name it, he loved it!

Speaking of love.... I believe my boys are developing my love of ice cream! Our trip to Marineland and Niagara Falls wasn't complete without a stop in Niagara on the Lake for some COWS ice cream! I remember being on the east coast and stopping at every COWS ice cream store around! This was the highlight of this trip for me!

The boys were actually interested in seeing Niagara Falls this time around!

Niagara Falls Indoor Waterpark is a blast! We have so much fun there everytime we go! It is located right downtown and a skywalk away from our hotel!

The boys always request a visit to Marineland! They love this place! Both of them love the shows and seeing all of the water animals!

My boys are swimmers! You can't keep them out of the pool. Owen has actually become a bit of a pool snob... he doesn't want the blow up pool in the back anymore, or the slip and slide, it has to be an inground pool like his grandparents!

Owen was the soccer star this year! He really did well and loved every minute of it!

What a hidden gem... Oak Lake Beach is 10 minutes from our house and so great! The kids love the warm water, all of the toys at the beach and the cute little snack shack!

We also have visited the Toronto Zoo! The boys highlight was the stingray exhibition!
