International Air Show and Joe

This past weekend we were very excited to have our old friend and neighbour Joe come home for a visit. 

He was able to bring his plane from California all the way to Trenton to participate in the air show but more importantly visit with all of us!

 

In Saturday night we had a big party that included bills famous shrimp boil!

Happy Birthday Jenny!

We celebrated Jenny's birthday on Tuesday night in fine style. We dined at the Drake in Wellington with a great group of girls. 

If anyone is going to have a fun night out, it's Jen! We love her because she is always cheerful, so out going and a ton of fun! Not to mention she's a wonderful friend!

Last day of school!

Today was the last day of school. Owen is officially now in 6th grade! Crazy!!

He loves his new school, made a lot of new friends and was successful in all the sports he played this year too!

Griffin had a wonderful year in grade 3! I officially now have two junior students. I'm excited that Griffin will finally get to try out for sports teams next year. 

He made lots of new friends and a special friendship with Evan. He too loves his new school and was terrific kid in his first month there!

Congratulations to both of them. They had fantastic report cards and are moving on with flying colours!

Happy Birthday Owen!

This fantastic kid turned 11 today! 

It's hard to believe 11 years ago today my life was forever changed. This wonderful boy came into my life and filled it with joy and love. 

Today Owen is 11. That much closer to a teenager. Entering grade 6 next year. But some things don't change. Owen has a big heart. He loves to share and would give you his last of anything. He's funny and bright. He's athletic and has dreams. 

He's handsome and bold. Owen has a mind of his own. He loves animals and this devotion has never wavered. He is good to his friends. He is social and talkative. He is mine! An eleven year boy that is all he is suppose to be!

 I hope you enjoyed your day. Surprise balloons in the morning, lunch out with mom, presents, friends for a swim and pizza followed by your favourite cake!

Happy Father's Day!

Today we celebrated Father's Day! We didn't have anything really planned. Just a day to relax and enjoy the fact we weren't racing around! 

The boys are certainly growing up. Owen went on his own with his grandpa to buy his dad a macdonalds gift card as a gift for him.  The thoughtfulness of this boy shows his big heart. 

We also celebrated with grandpa who got all of his favourite things; tim Horton gift cards, scratch tickets and candy! 

Owen's 11th Birthday Party

This party was a long time in the planning, making, preparing and pulling off! Owen had wanted to go camping at the sandbanks with his friends for his birthday!

It took a lot of convincing to get his father to agree and two other fathers to sign up to help but it all started to come together until the weather turned for the worst. We must have checked the weather 3 times a day! 

As always things alway turn out! The weather turned, the rain stopped and the shine shine just as our 4 car parade pulled into the Sandbanks!

I headed to the beach with Owen and 11 of his friends while the dads went to set up camp. And yes you read correctly 12 boys in total! 

Sand surfing was a favourite activity as well as baseball and swimming. 

After a few hours at the beach we headed back to camp to find the camp all set up. 

Hot dogs on the bbq, birthday cake and cupcakes, games and then back to the beach. 

Highlight of the party had to be this...,

Second favourite highlight had to be getting stopped by the park cops to be told we couldn't do that!

More baseball and sand surfing on the beach and then back for s'mores on the campfire. 

Getting the kids to bed wasn't too bad getting to be quiet at 5am when they all woke was not so much fun. In fact it ruined the morning. 

Breakfast, donuts on a string and more beach before we packed and headed home. 

Was it a lot of work... Yes

Was Tony cranky for a really long time.. Yes

Will it be a birthday party Owen remembers for the rest of his life....

YES!!

And that's all that matters!
