Trick or Treat

These boys were on the go tonight.  We couldn't slow them down.  They ran from house to house to house.  Only to stop and unload their bag.  I have such fond memories of Halloween from year to year.  Being such a kid myself, having kids of my own now is such a treat when it comes to Halloween.  I love dressing up and going house to house, and racing home to see all of the treats.
The boys had an absolute great time tonight.
Hesitant to stop for a quick picture...

Pumpkin Carving

Love this smile..... Griffin so proud of his pumpkin.
He designed and helped to carve his own pumpkin.

Owen decided he wanted his pumpkin to look like a Ninja Turtle.
Daddy helped him plan and carve.  The only thing missing is the glow sticks
to light it up the same colour of his Ninja Turtle!

Surprise

Tony surprised me with pearl earrings last week...
and I couldn't have been more thrilled!
Love sweet, thoughtful gestures!

Looking back on Halloween's Past

Oh how time flies

Marci and baby Cole came for a visit last week and we dug out Owen and Griffin's baby Halloween costumes.  The boys couldn't wait to try the costume to on Cole... and he looked cute, but they also couldn't resist trying on their costumes as well.

They have certainly grown into their costumes, Owen the loveable lion and Griffin the little stinker!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today I am thankful for spending a lovely day together as a family of four!
  • Pumpkin Patch
  • Apple Picking
  • Leaf Raking
  • and Enjoying leftovers with our neighbours!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Are you Ready to be Spooked?

We met up with Sarah and Theo at Snyder's Fear Farm for some frightening fun!
I don't know what it is, but I love a good scare!  Halloween is one of my favourite times of the year.

Look who else is loving the Fear Farm!
Theo could easily be employed at this place, he would fit right in!
First we went on a hayride through the haunted forest where we stopped at some grueling stops and met some scary creatures along the way.  Next the wagon dropped us off at the corn maze which was the best part, as you never knew what was lurking around the next corner.  After we made our way out,
we headed to the Haunted House. If you get the chance check it out: Fearfarm.ca

Griffin's SK Picture Day

Could he be any cuter?
Griffin although not thrilled to have to put on a shirt and collar, looked pretty handsome on his picture day.

Right now Griffin is:
Silly!  He cracks us up all day long! he is full of funny stories, and expressions and his little laugh is hilarious right now.

Goofy!  This kid lives in his underpants.  He would stay in them all day long.  He dances, eats, and sleeps in them.

Loving.  Griffin is our cuddle guy.  He loves hugs and kisses and snuggles in the morning.  He would be perfectly happy to stay home all day long with his mommy and daddy.

Five!  Completely, fully, a spirited, playful, loveable little boy.

First Commissioned Birthday Cake

This was my first commissioned cake order.  My friend Jody asked me when I first started taking a cake decorating class if I could do this cake for her daughter.  I was  glad I was able to pull it off.  I had yet to learn how to do fondant, and relied on youtube to teach me.  I had a great time making this cake.  Place your orders!!

Thanksgiving Treats

I made a "Thankful" treat for the wonderful ladies that make up a wonderful team at my school for Thanksgiving.
Inside the bags were pretzels, pumpkin gummies, cranberries, and M&M's. I had wanted to add bugels to look like cornets but they were no where to be found.

Love, Love, Love October!

October is one of my favourite months!  There are so many things to look forward to.  This weekend we will be celebrating Thanksgiving.  Soon to follow will be Halloween.

To start the month of October, I put together a "Boo Basket" of Halloween books for the boys to read each night during the month.  Tonight Griffin chose "Franklin's Halloween".

This basket was easy to do.  I found a basket that would hold 30 books.  I used some Halloween coloured ribbons to tie to the handles and added a "BOO" sign to the front.
