Easter Blue Jays Style

This year the bunny brought the boys Easter treats in a new Jays hat instead of a basket! Pretty cool for older boys! In fact the whole Easter theme was Blue Jays! New shirts, tickets for a game, a Jays outfit for their bears and even a bat and ball filled with gum!

Their favourite tradition is the Easter egg hunt! There were so many eggs, they were able to fill their baskets twice!

It was a beautiful warm sunny day. We spent a lot of time outside playing baseball ( of course) and enjoying the weather.

Before dinner we came inside to color eggs. We tried pairing them gold, tie dying some and even making them look like minions!

Dinner was a turkey of course with these cute bunny in a jar flavours at each seat!

Traditions are always the highlight of these holidays!
Happy Easter!

This cool kid turned 9

Griffin turned 9 yesterday!

He woke up pretty excited to celebrate his day. One of the boys favourite traditions is to have a balloon burst somewhere in their room.

And to find presents of course!
This year Griffin didn't have many requests. He is still big on gathering cash!

He did however request Heelys. Hard to find because they were banned years ago but now are making a come back.

Griffin had also been wanting a BMX bike since last summer. He got nervous a week prior to his big day because he thought he would have to have someone show him how to do tricks.

He finally decided on this one, mainly because of the red wheels and pegs.

We spent the rest of the day playing baseball, seeing the new superman vs batman movie and than out for dinner at his favourite restaurant Lonestar (to everyone else's dismay)!

Happy Birthday to my baby who quickly is becoming a big kid! This boy has such personality, humour and smarts. Happy Birthday Griffin!

Big Game!

Owen got Anaheim can Toronto tickets for a Christmas present. The day finally arrived and it came with the worst weather forecast. Freezing rain, ice pellets  and snow. Instead of just a game the day became quite an event! They left early to beat the rain and rode the go train into downtown.

Owen had been pushing to stay in a hotel. He even wrote a letter in class as an assignment and presented it to Tony the night before.

He got his wish! They even hit the hockey hall of fame.

They swam in the hotel before supper and then were off to the game but not before some bad news. Owens Favourites player and reason he's an Anaheim fan was injured and not playing.

It sounds like they had a blast, a good game to watch. It went into overtime but ended with a loss. The only thing that could console Owen was a hotdog!

A day this boy will probably never forget!

Maple in the County

We headed out for breakfast on Sunday morning for Maple in the County!
The pancake breakfast was delicious!
It's a fun tradition that we all look forward to each year. The only thing missing was maple taffy which was a no go because we didn't have any snow!

Favourites from Myrtle Beach

As we arrived back to cold snowy weather I've been thinking about the warm and fun we had last week.

Here are some of the highlights from our trip.

Mini putt! We played 4 games. There are so many to chose from and they are all lots of fun!

The beach was a hot spot to be this year. The boys even braved going into the ocean.

The Boardwalk was the boys Favourites. They had a blast playing at the arcade.

Hanging out with friends! We knew at least six families there and the boys always had someone to play with.

Dining out at new restaurants with friends. This was a hip Mexican restaurant! The churros were awesome!!

Broadway at the beach had lots of fun adventures!

Our vacation was great and we came home with a bit of color and lots of memories!

An end to a great season of hockey!!

Griffin and his team went into a tie breaker for the semis tonight. They win the first two and lost the second two as many players were away for March Break including the goalie.

The moms squeezed into the boys jerseys, the kids had their faces painted but it just wasn't enough. Sadly the season came to an end this evening. Griffin had some tears as he came out of the game but he said he wasn't sad because he knew they tried hard. I think the realization that it was their last game together as some will move on to triple a.

We are very proud of how he played and has carried himself. Even his brother told him he played well.

Way to go Griffin!

Birthday Favourites

I celebrated my 43rd birthday yesterday with all of my favorite things!

A quick morning shop at Target before crossed the border after our vacation. Then off to watch Griffin play hockey followed by lunch at Five Guys.

In the evening we headed to the movies to watch Zootopia!

A perfect day!

Boardwalk in Myrtle Beach!

Today we spent the afternoon at the Boardwalk exploring, playing at the arcade and checking out the pier.

I got my favorite treat today, the frozen banana on a stick.
Griffin and I cleaned up at the arcade today! The boys had a blast! Griffins fave says it all!
