A Winner

Owen came home very excited from school on Thursday.  He had told me earlier that Mr. Hoover was having a contest for the student who designed the best dragon in class. He was determined to do his best job.  He even worked through his recess breaks.  His hard work paid off, he was selected by his classmates as the winner.  He couldn't stop hugging me and showing me his prize and even told me that it was true, "if you believe in yourself, you can do it".... talk about melting my heart!
Love this kid!

Guess Where We're Going??

We've been keeping a very big secret, but now that Owen has been to the specialist for the final time, and we have been given clearance for him to go, we can share our very exciting news.... We're going on a Disney Cruise!!

This March Break we are sailing from Port Canaveral to Bahamas,
to the Disney Island and back to Port.

Tony and I are are excited to have the boys go on their first cruise!
It is going to be fun!
Two weeks and counting!!!

More Tubing.... with friends!

We headed to Watertown to do some more tubin' today!  We brought along Monika, Alexander and Christopher, and what a day it was!  From our late start, to Monika getting stopped at the border, the unusual folk at the ski hill, to our speedy stop at Target, dinner at Olive Garden and  very late arrival home,
we had a blast from start to finish!
Dare devil Owen, running, sliding face first down the hill!

Tim Bit Jamboree

Today was a big day for Griffin, it was the Tim Bit Jamboree!
A pizza lunch with Bullie, A Bulls hockey game, and finally an award ceremony!

What could be better than a picture with Malcolm Subban to end the day!

Final Four!

Well, as you know I haven't done too well with my predictions.  I would never have guess Catharine or Ashlee would still be around.

I was really sad to see Sarah go, she was my favourite.

Of the final girls left, my money is on Lindsay.  Yes, you heard it right here!
Money on the girl in the wedding dress!

Spec-Tubluar Day!

We took the boys tubing on Sunday for some fun on Family Day Weekend.
If you have never been, it is a ton of fun!

Igloo Fun!

The boys put the snow to good use and made this cool igloo!

A Real Canadian Winter Storm

Nothing delights children more than a real winter storm, unfortunately this one came later than expected and a snow day was missed.
Students were sent home just after 1pm.

But when we got home, we certainly made up for loss time
and played in the snow for hours!

The neighbourhood got together, and blowed out about 10 neighbours driveways
(thank goodness, since our snow blower was away being fixed)
As much as I don't enjoy winter, I sure am glad the boys got to experience
"a real good old winter storm!"

Spicy Valentine's Dinner Party

Who doesn't love a dinner party with friends, Mexican food, and games!
Sounds like a recipe for a fun night!
Monika, Jody and Jen enjoying a new cheddar fondue I made!

A Pinteresty Valentines!

I found quite a few great ideas on Pinterest for Valentine's Day, but I absolutely loved this card idea for my lovie and just had to make it!  I love the way it turned out, and so simple.  Just some buttons in a heart shape!

The boys did a little Pinteresting this year too.  Griffin selected this Star Wars card because he loved the glow sticks on them.  I wasn't so sure about his selection but they turned out really cute!  I am sure the glow stick will be a hit!

Owen decided on the bug jar.  It had originally had a plastic bug on the card but Owen decided he wanted to put gummy worms on it.  I think they kids will like this one!
Now, we are just wondering if Owen will have a special Valentine for his crush :)

No Valentine's Day party is complete without sweet treats!  The boys are taking heart shaped rice krispy squares dipped in pink chocolate and sprinkles!

Chanel’s Fine Jewelry Spring-Summer 2012 Campaign

I know you're not going to believe this...

I know you're not going to believe this, but I just may not be
NKOTB's biggest fan anymore!

I was excited when NKOTB announced their upcoming concert. I was ready to purchase tickets on the American Express Front of the Line advance sale, got in right at 10am and there weren't any tickets available. Tried for 15 minutes and nothing....

Decided to try again on the day tickets were available to the general public and the same thing happened.

Seriously, no tickets available just as they go on sale.
Something fishy is going on, and I am not sure I like it!

Getting Ready for Valentine's Day

Decisions, Decisions.... We have finally decided on the valentines the boys want to make for their friends next week.  Owen is going with the bug theme.  Deciding between using the candy bugs or the real bugs.

Griffin wants to use the glow in the dark light sticks to create Star Wars Valentines cards. I'm not as much in love with this idea, but I haven't been able to sway him, so Star Wars it is!

Stay tuned to see our creations!

Owen Update

We received great news on Monday..... the MRI showed that Owen has a swollen ACL and a mild MCL sprain which means that his knee will heal on his own and he will not need surgury... phew!!

Owen starts physio next week, needs to wear the brace for another two weeks and no contact sports for a month.

Although this means hockey is  officially over for Owen this season, it also means his knee will not be a problem for him in years to come!

Movie Date

We took the boys to see "Rise of the Guardian" at the theatre on the weekend and let them each bring along a friend.  They couldn't have been happier, and Tony and I were happy to get to see this show!  What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
