Library Mouse

This week in class I read the story Library Mouse. It's about a little mouse named Sam that writes little books and leaves them for kids to find in the library. The next day during library kids found little books Sam had left. They were so excited. Of course we had to write him a letter and ask if we could meet him. Upon return to the library and hound this little note and books for the kids to write their own books. Can't wait for the kids to finish them so we can hide them for other students to find!

Mother's Day

Love being a mom...especially to these boys!  Full of personality and love. I couldn't ask for more!

Crazy swim

Pool is open and this kid was crazy enough to jump in! The pool was at about 74 degrees. Brrrrr.... Just a bit chilly!!

Summer is here

Nothing says summer like the first campfire. We had friends and neighbours  over for a fire and s'mores! Love summer!

First soccer game

Griffin and his buddy Ryan won their first soccer game this week. And I must say they look great sporting their purple jerseys!

Dudes

Beautiful, bold typical boys! Owen is sporting his new hair style that he thinks the girls are lovin and Griffin just had his hair cut.  It's hard to believe just how fast they are growing up!

Griffy Roo

Love this kid! Full of spunk and humour!  He cracks me up over and over again! Best part is his love of hugs and snuggles. He sure is my snuggle bunny!

Book Gala!

I hosted a Book Gala for my students and their parents in April at the Public Library in the Children's Department for the students to display the non-fiction books they created!  Students wrote letters inviting their parents, grandparents, principals, the Director of Education and many more.  We were thrilled with such a huge turn out for our special event.

I still have the story book I created when I was their age and the effort that was put into making this book is a memory I have kept close for all of these years.  I had wanted this event to do the same for my students.  I am certain they won't remember the tests, or even the lessons, but they will remember the Book Gala they attended with their families in grade 2!

Our Book Gala even made the front page of the newspaper!
Peggy and Julia our special invited guests reading one of the books.

Our Director of Education reading one of my students stories!

Rockin' The New Bike!

Griffin got a new bike for Easter... it's pretty cool, and he looks pretty good on it!
Now just if we could get him to use his new hand brakes instead of his feet, or slamming the bike to the ground to stop!!

Fun with Cole!

Last week, Marci and Cole came for a visit!  I love to see Owen with Cole and how well he takes care of him! Griffin usually likes to play with him, but this time he was hugging and carrying him around too.
This is my favourite photo!  It reminds me of how much time Marci has spent with my guys over the years, and now we get to do the same with her little guy!
and I have to mention Cole loved the slide!  Over and over again!
