15th Wedding Anniversary!

Our love story began 17 years ago on Canada day in Ottawa.  I like to say it was fireworks when we first met!  We both were visiting friends and randomly met at a bar called The Brig in the Market.  I was ticked at my friends for not wanting to watch the fireworks and Tony was with his drunk friend Rich, who I thought resembled a Russian figure skater.

Tony approached me and we chatted the night away.  He told me he was attracted to my cardigan, and thought I looked like a girl who didn't hang out at bars.  He now loves to joke that he knew instantly from the cardigan that I was a teacher and had a great pension!!

I never gave him my number but he found me and gave me a call a couple days later.  It just so happened he was coming to Cambridge for a baseball tournament in 2 weeks.  We met and went on our first real date.  We went mini putting and to the horse races where we met up with  my friends.  Not a great date, in fact I wasn't sure we would see each other again.  But I saw him again the next day and night and well it has been love ever since!

I was always told you would know when you met the right one, and fortunately for me, Tony was absolutely the right one!  We fell in love fast and easily!  We visited each other every weekend making the best of our long distance relationship.

10 months later, he popped the question at sunset at the Sandbanks (my love of sunsets has never waivered) and of course I said yes!  We bought a house and I moved to Belleville in July planning for a wedding the next July.

We wed in Cambridge on July 27th, the hottest day of the year but the best day of my life!  Our wedding was everything I ever had dreamed of.

It was a whirlwind of a relationship.  Ups and downs as I tried to make a new home in Belleville.  But our love has never waivered.  I still smile when I think of him.  I don't like to be away from him for long (as you all know)!  I've always said that I never felt whole until I met him and life began when we met!  I am a lucky lady.  He is my biggest supporter, he calms me down, makes decisions for me (ha!) and loves me unconditionally.

Today we celebrate 15 years of marriage and I can't wait to spend the rest of my years with him!

Love you!

TWIN?

Lately, it has been brought to Tony's attention that he is kinda resemble Simon Cowell..... what do you think?

A Day in the County!

We headed to the county on the weekend to have lunch and let Griffin bring his friend Sam for some ice cream and a play!

We ate Angry Birds which is very much like Swiss Chalet.  We all really like it!  They have a great patio and right across the road is a park and skate park.  The kids play while waiting for the meal.  Win, win!!

Griffin loves the candy bar for the way out!  We headed home for Tony to paint and the boys to swim!  These "Super" boys had a great time swimming and while Tony might not have had a great time painting it does look great!

More Layouts!

Summer Scrapbooking!!

Every summer I pull out my scrapbook supplies, set up a work area and scrapbook an entire years worth of pictures!  And I couldn't be any happier!!

This year was no different.  Both boys have been away separately for a week and I spent that time fitting in as much scrapbooking as possible.

Below are just a few of the over 40 pages that I have completed!  Still more to go.....

Gizmo Turned 3!!

It's hard to believe this little guy has been with us for 3 years.  It took 9 years of convincing Tony to let us have a pet and then he never fully committed, but we brought him home anyway.

Gizmo is a great cat!  Affectionate and playful! The boys absolutely adore him and believe it or not Tony likes him too!  You know Tony likes you when he nicknames for you... fat chubby, pig face, and the list goes on!!!  Okay, so maybe not the nicest nicknames but they come from the hear!

Day Trip to Kingston!

On Tony's week of holidays, we ventured to Kingston one day to have lunch out and to take a tour of the Kingston Penn.

We had been wanting to try a new pizza place and everyone loved it!
It was kinda like a subway but with wood fire pizzas.

We also found this awesome bakery with fancy cookies and desserts!  Griffin and I both had a cookie!

We then headed to the Kingston Penn for a tour.  It closed in 2013 and for the last few years has been running tours.

The boys got a first hand experience of what it felt like to be behind bars.
After we headed back downtown Kingston for some ice cream.

We ended our day with go karting!  The boys had a blast.  Owen got the stinky car that never really worked and Griffin got extra time on his car because of it!

We had a great time in Kingston together!

A Perfect Summer Day!

On Saturday we headed out to the the Sand Dunes with the Lees on their brand new boat!  What a beautiful sunny day to spend with friends!

We found our own little private beach and docked to spend the afternoon.  We had a bbq and the kids explored the sand dunes, finding their own little hot tub!

After the kids had time to explore and play we got back on the boat for water fun.  The kids went tubing and water skiing.  This was the first time that they tried water skiing and it wasn't a huge success, but both said they would try it again!

Tony was the water skiing champ!  He stayed up for a long time and even dropped a ski!  You can just imagine the razzing these boys took from their father!

Just before sunset we boated back to the dock and headed into Picton for supper and homemade ice cream from Slickers!

An absolute perfect summer day!

Nothing says Summer like a Fair!!

After a day at the waterpark, we headed down to the Waterfront Festival Fair!
The kids had passes for free unlimited rides!  And boy they sure took advantage of it!  They had a great time running from ride to ride!

Owen, Maddy, Ryan and Griffin have spent many summers together and we are hoping this summer won't be any different!  They love each other like siblings... well the boys at least!

West Lake Waterpark!

Last Friday we headed out with friends to West Lake Waterpark!  Truly a cool place for the kids to hang out!  Lots of inflatables for the kids to climb and jump off of!

This was their favourite one.... they were able to rock it back and forth by distributing their weight properly.

It's always fun having the Lees along with us!
Even the moms had fun too!
