Lucky 13

Today Tony and I celebrated 13 years of marriage! Where has the time gone? We have certainly been blessed with a wonderful life and can only hope for many more years to come!

We spent the afternoon in the county. Lunch, shopping and ice cream!

We headed to the movies tonight and just just enjoyed spending time together.

As nice as this break has been from the kids, I'm certain that life would not be as much fun without them!

While the kids are away.....

We took off for Montreal this weekend for the Just for Laughs festival with friends who also had their kids at camp. This is a first for both of us!

We made it to Montreal in time for lunch and headed to Schwartz's Deli a famous smoked meat dinner. There was a line down the block but the wait was worth it!

Pam and I hit the stores and then we all headed out to the just for laughs festival and comedy show.

The show included some big stars like Gilbert Godfrey.

After we headed out for a late dinner on a patio.

The next day we had breakfast and then toured around Old Town. I love this area! Lots of great shops, patios and ice cream.

On our way home we stopped at St. Hubert's. It was a great weekend!

A few more scrapbook pages!

54-40

54-40 brings me right back to my teenage years! And the hayloft for Tony!

We celebrated jody's birthday at the hayloft in the county with 54-40 and a few of our friends. I had never been there but I've heard many stories about how this was the place to be when tony was young.

A barn, with a stage and bar. Nothing fancy but pretty cool. Even more cool that we got to see 54-40.

Great time! Great memories made!

Hedley Concert

Each year Belleville  hosts a rock fest in the summer. We haven't been yet because generally were not interested in the bands but this year with the boys away and Hedley coming to town we decided to go!  I'm so glad we did! What a great outdoor venue, and an awesome concert. I didn't realize just how many hits Hedley had!

Good times with some great friends and fantastic music!

Beach day!

We finally made it to the sandbanks for the first time this summer! It was a beautiful day until we arrived and discovered how windy and chilly it was. It didn't affect the boys at all, the waves were huge and the had a great time in the water all afternoon!

Of course we had to stop for a famous Slickers ice cream! If you haven't been, it's the best ice cream in the county!

Off to Camp

Owen had so much fun at camp last year that he couldn't wait to get back this year! Him and five of his hockey buddies were going and wanting so desperately to be in the same cabin. He got lucky, they are all Eagles!

I packed a small surprise for each day... Fake mustaches for all of them on one day, candies, chips, and lots more surprises!

I can't wait to hear the stories!

DIY Summer Project

We are re-doing Owens bedroom and I had found a piece of art on Etsy that I thought would be perfect for Owen!

I decided to make one myself because this one was selling for $198.

Marci and I love creating, so it was a no brainier to come up with this one. We had a lot of fun making it and love the way it turned it! Even better than the original! I am sure Owen is going to love it!

Happy Birthday Gizmo!

This guy was well worth the 8 year wait. Owen loves him so much. He couldn't wait for his birthday to arrive to give home the gift he had bought him.
He has one more gift, but it hasn't arrived and Owen is anxiously awaiting it.

Gizmo has turned out to be a great pet. We always said we wanted an affectionate cat, and we got that and more. He loves to cuddle with you and demands to be petted. He will try to sneak in and sleep with the boys. He even has forged a relationship with Tony, the one that didn't want him.

Happy 1st birthday Gizmo!

That time of year again!

Some might disagree but I say scrap booking in the summer is the most wonderful time of the year!

Each July I pull out all of my supplies, set up a space and catch up on all my scrap booking! I absolutely love it! I can spend hours sitting and creating.

I think I'm going to have to somehow figure out a permanent spot and make this a more regular activity.

I've been very successful at getting 2014 complete!

Check out my layouts!

Now on to 2015!

Another Summer Filled Week

This week it was just Griffin and I. Owen was staying with my parents.

Griffin was very excited to have the week all to himself. We planned lots of great days. We headed to the beach with Marci and Jen. We went to gananoque for the day to swim and play on the jumping pillow. We spent a day with Marci and Cole. We visited me friend Lisa at her cottage. Griffin had his best friend Ryan over for a play date. And to top the week off tony took griffin and Ryan to the Monster Truck show on Friday night!
How could you ask for a better week??

Visit with the Johnstons!

For the past few summers it has become tradition to visit our friends Barry and Wendy in Collingwood. The boys look forward to the visit and always request a return trip the following year.

This year we stayed in their new home that Barry built. Absolutely gorgeous!

If that wasn't  enough, we were lucky enough to arrive just after they brought their new puppy Marzi home.

Swimming, kayaking, Blue Mountain, roller coaster, high ropes course, Menchies and lots of jokes were highlights from our trip this year!

We can't thank Wendy and Barry enough for having us but also being so good to our boys which as we all know are more than a handful!

See you next summer!

Summer has finally Begun!

Last Thursday we headed to beach and summer had felt like it had begun!

Oak Lake is the beach were the boys love to go. Digging, sand castles, catching fish, swimming, ice cream and candy bags.

This place feels like summer!

Fun at the lake!

This past weekend we headed north to a cottage with the Skinners, Lees and the Brookers. Beautiful weather, fun water toys, frog catching, fishing, boating, and campfires... What more could we ask for.

Thanks to Pams family for having us this weekend. We had a great time and the company was fantastic!

The boys fell asleep on the ride home yesterday... Completely exhausted!
