We interrupt to bring back the hockey season!

Owen had his first game of the season last night! The team played a great game, they had fun and they ended up with a tie 5-5!

The dads are having fun too!

Watch out tooth fairy!

Griffin needed to have 4 teeth pulled before getting his spacer. We managed to squeak it in before school started.

He was a trooper! And his reward wasn't too bad either!

School Tradition

Each year I create these back to school keepsakes. I love looking back to remember their favourites at that time.

First day of School

Back to school has come and gone. The general feeling we all had about returning was that we were just not ready. After having a wonderful summer, we just weren't ready to give it up!

Owen was feeling a little bit excited to head into grade 6 and see his friends again. He is in Ms. Viviana class this year and we are looking forward to a great academic year!

Griffin wasn't the least bit interested in going. He would be happy to stay with his mom full time. Griffin is in grade 4 with Mrs. Wong. I know both Griffin and his teacher both love math, so this should be a great match!

Both boys have the same ambitions for future careers as they did last year. Owen wanting to play in the NHL and Griffin wanting to be an engineer.

Let the school year begin!

Baltimore and Blue Jays

After leaving Washington we headed to Baltimore to see the Blue Jays! We had tickets for two games and we also toured Camden Yards.
We went early to the ball game to catch the blue Jays batting practice. The boys had a blast! Catching balls, seeing the players and getting autographs.

Griffin was super excited to get a ball from Josh Donaldson so he decided to try to get the ball signed by making him a sign. No luck, but josh did read it!

The boys got autographs from Lots of players including Tulo!

The second game we went even earlier and the boys were on a mission to get more autographs!

It was a great experience, we even made it on tv!

The boys have now requested that next summer we go to Boston to see a Jays game! They have the Jays fever!

A great way to end summer and a new tradition!

DC Cupcakes

On our way out of DC we stopped in Georgetown so I could go to DC Cupcakes which is a famous bakery from tv.

Georgetown is a really cool city with lots of little shops. The cupcakes were amazing. Mine was banana split flavour!

Washington DC

Last week we squeezed in 1 last adventure of the summer. We headed to Washington DC to see the sights and catch a Washington Nationals baseball game.
We visited the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument and Whitehouse. I can't count how many times we've seen these buildings on tv and to now see them in real life was a very cool experience, well hot as it was 36degrees and humid!

We went to see a Nationals game on Sunday afternoon. It was great to see an American ball park.

The boys enjoyed the game but we all agreed it's better to watch your home team as we were missing the Jays.

Washington was a very cool city, very clean, and a great family destination with lots of museums for the kids to explore!
