Ready for School

Griffin and Owen have been doing school work all summer long each and every day to get ready for school.

Griffin has mastered his name and let me tell you that was no easy feat! This kid just wants to play. It wasn't until Tony mentioned he will get to play in class that he was excited to go. Each day since, he has asked if it is time for school to start. I am glad he is excited.

Owen had a few tasks this summer to tackle as well. He needed to learn to tie his shoes, and with lots of practice we hope to be there by the time school starts. It really is hard to teach! He is however pumped about his new shoes!

One of Owen's tasks was writing a journal everyday. He did a great job! He has also mastered basic addition and is doing really well reading!

Watch out school... here come the Bird boys!

Summer to Do List

At the beginning of summer we made a list of things we wanted to do over the break. We had a great summer, filled with fun adventures and activities but we have not completed our list and yet we are running out of time. This bothers me. I am trying to fit all of these activities in, but Tony seems to think we have done enough this summer!

Summer doesn't officially end until the 21st of September right? Let the planning begin! Too bad work had to get in the way :)

Cruisin' is the life for me!

Tony and I escaped on a short cruise this past week on the Royal Carribean Majesty of the Seas ship. Our ship took us to Nassau Bahamas, Coco Caye Bahamas, and Key West Florida.

In Nassau, we spent the day at Atlantis at the waterpark. It was fantastic. We went on water slides, the lazy river, the many different pools and even the ocean. I went down the challenger waterslide but could not be convinced to go down the largest, fastest, scariest slide! This was the perfect day.

In Coco Caye, a private island of Royal Carribeans, we went on a jet ski adventure to the middle of the ocean. I can't believe I paid to be tortured!! This was not my cup of tea. I did it for Tony, because I am not very adventurous and he misses out on some good stuff when I bail on him, but I got to tell you, I was peeing my pants!

We just love Key West. This was our second time there, we took the trolley tour with a fantastic guide and then headed down Duval street! Great shopping and night life! If you ever get the chance to visit, you should. We headed straight for the island's specialty "Frozen Key Lime Pie on a stick dipped in chocolate"!! YUM!!

We have already been planning our next cruise!!
