So Much Fun!!

Tony and I waivered (he more than I) as to whether we really wanted to drive 16 hours with these two kids.... we were pleasantly surprised at how well they behaved on the drive!!! I had 2 tricks up my sleeve that really helped. 1. Headphones for the dvd players (seriously, it took me 4 years to figure this one out!) 2. Plastic Easter eggs filled with a small animal and treat that were given to the boys every 30 minutes or so if they were well behaved!! This worked like a charm! The journey was actually fun! There were lots of things to look at along the way, and different restaurants to stop at (cracker barrel, being at the bottom of the barrel). The weather gradually got warmer and warmer until we arrived in Myrtle beach with our windows down enjoying 20degree weather. Our resort was fantastic, an indoor water park in each tower, and right on the beach. We have two beach boys. They could have literally spent the entire time searching for shells, and playing in the sun. Shell searching was Owen's favourite part of the trip. We bought both of them treasure boxes to bring home their favourite shells in.

My Highlights of the trip:
-Alligator Adventure
-Ripley's Aquarium
-2 outlet malls... I repeat 2 outlet malls
-Stickey Fingers
-wearing sandals
-18 different mini golf courses
-shell searching

Tony's Highlights of the trip:
-shopping
-16 hours of driving
-sleeping in the double bed
-staying in during nap times

Would we do it again???
Absolutely!!

The Journey Home

Myrtle Beach reached a high of 21 degree on the day we were leaving. Most days were a warm 15-16 degrees. Warm enough for sandals and a light sweatshirt. On the day we were leaving it was HOT!! Figures!!

It was also my birthday. I spent my birthday in the car for more than 10 hours of driving. But it was fun!! We stopped at Hardees for lunch (don't recommend it) and later at Ruby Tuesday for dinner. The boys sang to me, we just had a great time.

We made our final stop in Hershey PA, ready for to check out Hershey World the next morning! Like I said, I couldn't ask for anything more :)

37... Can you believe it???

I know, I know, I don't look a day over 30!!! I will tell you, I don't feel like I am 37. Where did the time go. Age has really never affected me, but turning 37 was hard... far too close to 40! 40, I don't want to be 40!

To celebrate my birthday we went out for dinner with our great friends Jen and Brad and Carmela and Mr. Tough! We all have young children, and Jen is reading to deliver twins any day (talk about being a trooper coming out for my birthday), so it was great to have some adult time! I know I have said it a hundred times before, but I love my neighbours!

Any comments you would like to make about me not looking 37 would be greatly
appreciated!! HA!!

Griffy Roo turns 3!!

My little boy is 3. We sold his crib on Saturday. I am getting that urge. My little boy isn't a baby any more. He looks like a little boy... but what a cute little boy!

Griffin requested a Diego Birthday party. We invited his friends. Had the most expensive balloons one could buy (long long story) and we were ready to party. Well everyone except the birthday boy. Griffy doesn't like the attention. He was happy to hang out with his grandparents. When it was time for cake, he very sternly refused... it was time to open presents! So open presents he did!

Happy Birthday Griffy!

Here We Come

What a Change a Month Can Make!!

Looks innocent right?
Not a chance!

My sweet, adorable, well behaved, huggable, smart, little Griffin.... is 3!
I thought it wasn't going to happen.
I thought we were being blessed by not having to go threw it twice.
I thought perhaps the angels were smiling down on us, and telling us after Owen, Griffin was our perfect little angel....

And then it happened....
tantrums
crying fits
attitude
"NO"
misbehaved at bedtime
Just in time for Griffin to turn three....

I'm certain that any day, he will wake up and realize he has wondered down the right path, and return to being our sweet well behaved little boy....
Snickers aside.... how could you not love his cute little face :)

The More the Merrier

Things are never dull at the Bird resident....
Olympic parties, Girls Night Inn, Franklin, Hockey Party, Baby Shower, and prepping for March Break. We like to keep busy... a weekend without plans is just not a weekend for us!

Griffy had his first dentist appointment in February... Things went fairly well, thanks to our wonderful hygienist and friend Stacey (you made it on the blog!) Big brother came along just to show him how it was done

A baby shower for our friend and neighbour Jen... expecting twins.... Identical Boys!!!! This news crushed my dreams of her possibly letting me keep one if it they were girls :)
Love this diaper cake, Carmela and I made!

Girls Night Inn Party.... Pedicures and all!

Olympic Party at Catharine and Lionels!

Down with the homeboys!
