Did It!

Quebec City to finish our trip!

On the way home from PEI we stopped in Quebec City!

This is one of our favorite stops. This trip we landed here on a Sunday night with beautiful weather.

We wandered, had dinner, watched buskers and a stopped for a dessert crepe. A perfect evening to finish a perfect vacation.

Last Day in PEI

Yesterday was our last day on the island. And we lucked out!  It was suppose to rain all day but we didn't get a drop until 8:30pm.

We made the most out of our day. We headed to Chelton Beach for the boys to explore the ocean floor while the tide was out. They loved finding hermit crabs and begged to bring them home.

Then we headed to a light house and watched boys jumping off the cliffs.

Most of my pictures from this day are still on my camera.

We headed to Carrs Oysters for lunch on a patio over looking Stanley Bridge for tony to have his last feast of seafood.

In the evening we went for our last COWS ice cre and then to Brackley beach to release flying lanterns ( an experiment gone wrong) and then to the drive in.

We fit in everything we wanted to do!  Our only regret is having to say goodbye!

More Fun in PEI

Yesterday was another fun filled day for our family in PEI.

I think we enjoy best is the slow pace and the ability for us both to relax a little bit. I still feel that urge to rush to fit everything in but everything is within minutes away.

We started with the water park. We arrived at opening to hit the slides before the park got crazy on this humid day with a high of 31degrees.

We hit all the rides and left with still plenty of time left in our day.

Next we made a quick stop at Green Gables so I could snap a pic of the boys with Anne!

Griffin was thrilled to find out that he and his brother were going to play paintball. He has been wanting to do that for a long while. They had a great time!

Next we headed to Avonlea village for Griffin to meet up with Maurice for a drawing lesson. Griffin was thrilled to learn to draw a car and some other tricks.

Next we headed to Burlington to race go karts. The boys had fun! The park was much more of a local experience than hanging out in Cavendish.

One more fun filled day to go!

Sandcastles with Maurice!

Yesterday we headed to Cavendish beach to meet Maurice Bernard for Griffin to build Sandcastles with!

We met Maurice on our first trip here and Griffin has met with him each year after!

This year Maurice offered to meet us earlier than his scheduled time at the beach which thrilled Griffin to have a private session!

They decided that they would build a sandcastle with a Gryphon on it!  Griffin thought this was a great idea!

Griffin was thrilled with the results and he had a great time!

Anne, Sunset and Roller Coasters!

Yesterday was fun! We crammed in as much Cavendish fun as possible!

We literally walked just past the pool at our cottage to Anne's house. It's funny how many questions the boys still have about whether Anne is still alive and whether she still owns the house. But I get it because It does feel as if Anne were a real person.

Later we headed to the Sandpit for rides and fun. The highlight is always the Cyclone roller coaster. You've never been to a hokier park but the boys love it!

We left for an hour to head to Cavendish beach to walk the shore and snap some sunset pics.

Deep Sea Fishing

Last night we went on a chartered deep sea fishing adventure!

Excited to catch fish, we were also thrilled to see 2 whales and 1 seal.

The boys loved catching the mackerel and cod! Cod weren't biting too much but griffin managed to catch one for us to bring home.

Owen was slow to start but then caught lots of mackerel!

On the ride home watching the sunset I had said to tony that they evening could only get better if we saw a whale right under the sunset. Sure enough minutes later a whale popped out of the ocean!

Another wonderful evening spent in PEI!

We Made it to PEI

Yesterday we arrived in PEI! This is our fourth year returning. It seems to have become our summer home.

Our first stop was at COWS ice cream. Even the boys agree that COWS needs to be the first place we visit!

We then headed to Chelton Beach as we were told it was a great beach. We walked the red sands and decided this beach would be on our list of places to visit.

Next we headed to Kensington to visit the Haunted House. Really not very scary but really well done. The boys had the most fun at the arcade.

We then headed to Avonlea Village and discovered it had changed. No more characters it is now shops and restaurants. The boys were bummed but thankfully we had visited the three years before.

We checked into our cottage which never disappoints. Blue shutters this year, the boys were thrilled as we have now had each of the three colors.

After a quick swim we got ready to go to Charlottetown to see the Anne of green gables musical. Even though we had seen it before we all still loved it. I thanked the boys for indulging me after the show and Owen said your welcome and I enjoyed it too!  I love that they love Anne too!!

Our next adventure tomorrow will be  cavendish  beach to build sand castles with Maurice Bernard.

Hopewell Rocks

Yesterday we spent the day in Moncton New Brunswick on route to PEI for our summer vacation.

We spent most of the day at Magic Mountain water park. Probably the best day of the summer with a high of 33degrees.

It was packed but we had a lot of fun!

Later we drove up to Hopewell rocks for an unplanned adventure that couldn't have worked out better.

We learned that if you arrive after 7:30 pm it's free and if you park outside the park you can stay as long as you want.

Even better hardly anyone was there because the park was closed so we were able to get pics without a crowd.

This place really is cool!

Day at the Dunes!

On Friday we headed to the Dunes with the Osmonds. We met at their boat and headed over to the Dunes for a swim and bbq lunch.

Lisa and me posing at the dunes for a selfie!

The kids also got to go tubing.... One of their favorite summer activities.

Some fishing.... Until a fishing pole was lost :)

And then the kids went swimming in the waves in Lake Ontario.

After we headed back to their trailer and had dinner, ice cream and a camp fire!

A perfect summer day! Thanks for the fun Osmonds! Your hospitality was greatly appreciated!
