Lovin' the Twos

Griffin is full of personality... WOW!! Griffin is at just the right age. He is so much fun.... not too mention too cute!

His expressions are priceless. He is just starting to enter into the defiant stage, but is very timid to say no to mommy and daddy. If he does say no, his eyes bug out and look back and forth to see just how much trouble he is going to get in. And we have learned from Owen, that now is the time to lay down the "hammer" and let him know who is boss.

He loves to follow his big brother and mimics most things Owen does. He has learned to share, and is starting to put sentences together. For instance, his sentence of the week was "Puppy eat my Oo Oo" (referring to his stuffed monkey). Not quite sure why he thought a puppy would eat his monkey, but he did.

He loves animals, especially kittens and dogs. But don't bring him too close, because he is terrified. He only enjoys them from afar.

Griffy doesn't enjoy being a baby, he refers to himself as a big boy. When we ride bikes at night, he insists on riding his own bike and not having to get on daddy's bike with him.

He sure acts like a two year when it comes to eating. He is very fussy. But again, we learned our lesson and Griffin must sit and eat his meal before he can leave the table.

Griffin loves story time. He is a complete pleasure to put to bed. Brush his teeth, read a story, tuck him in under his favourite blanket, put on his Dora night light and off to bed he goes.

He is becoming very dependent on his suckie, Oo Oo and blankie. The first thing he does when he gets home is run to grab them. We resorted to putting them up high and now he has his partner in crime grabbing them for him.

Griffin is personality plus. He is so huggable, and lovable and mine.

Maddie Sphors

After watching Oprah on Monday about Unconventional Fathers, I went on the the website: http://www.mattlogelin.com/ to learn more about this father that lost his wife to a blood clot hours after their baby girl was born. This past year he has been raising her on his own with the help of mothers around the world sending advice via his blog. A great, heart-touching read.
If this wasn't touching enough, I then read further down on his blog about a little girl named Maddie Sphors that just died on April 7th at 16 months. I have been absorbed into this story for the past week, I haven't cried as much as I have cried for this little girl. She was born three months premature, and has endured sickness ever since. Maddie's story is well documented on her mother's blog: http://www.remembermaddie.com/index.php/who-is-maddie/, once you take one look at her eyes, she has you.
I think what you can learn from their experiences the most is gratitude. I am most grateful for my chance to be a mother to my two wonderful little boys. Grateful for their health. Grafeful for the opportunity for love like no other.

NKOTB again

On Monday night, Catherine, Angela and I embarked on a road trip to Ottawa to see NKOTB. Lets just say, this as the perfect trio for the trip. So much fun!! We arrived in Ottawa to dine at Jack Astors and then off to Scotia Bank Place for the main event. We were excited to have floor seats and even more excited to find out we were right beside the stage on the floor that they would perform songs on half way through the show. But, it just wasn't good enough. Off we went to find better seats closer to the stage. Believe it or not we found ourselves in the second row centre, and stayed there until the show almost started. Our luck changed and we shuffled around from empty seat to empty seat just praying the lights would go down and the show start until finally Catherine and Angela were kicked out of the front section and returned to our own seats. I on the otherhand was able to stay 10th row centre for the entire show!! Wahooooo!
Honestly, it was like being a teenager again. I finally was able to see NKOTB up close, even if it was by myself!!

The show was better than I remembered. The guys put on a fantastic show! Jam packed full of there old tunes, with a mix of new. There was a fair share of bra, boobie flashing and panty throwing on stage (honestly, a bit too old for this, but funny nonetheless). And of course the show wouldn't be complete without "raunchy" Donnie comments...including our favourite "nothing like the fresh smell of a french canadian girl" after smelling her panties.

The guys came out at the end in Canadian Jerseys and thrilled us with Step by Step.....followed by their final encore of Hanging Tough.

You may laugh, but words cannot explain how much fun we had that night.... a night we won't soon forget! Life cannot get better than spending a night with Joey Joe!

Jordan, with the fan and the open shirt blowing.... gotta love the cheese!
We got to touch the guys on their way to the back stage!!
