Congratulations Griffin

On route to Griffins last try out today, tony asked him what he thought he needed to do today to make it on the novice AA team. Griffin replied, hard work, effort and determination and of course hustle!  I smiled as I knew that someone had been listening and paying close attention. Griffin's hard work paid off as he is on the team! Congratulations to our little guy! Success isn't always easy but as he found out today, it is sure worth the effort!  Back on the team, back with his friends playing a sport he loves!

And I'm thrilled to be back with these ladies!

Proud Hockey Mom

This boy just finished his season of Atom AA hockey!!

Although his team didn't rack up a ton of wins, he was certainly was a winner in our eyes!!

This year, Owen has developed a real love of hockey. He works hard to better himself, reads about it all the time and loves the game and his team. 

I am one proud hockey mom!  

Hockey Tournament

Owen and his team had a hockey tournament this weekend!  

It's hard to say whether the boys or the parents had more fun!  

They started with a win and followed up with 3 losses, but the losses didn't dampen their spirits because the weekend meant so much more to them!

Running the halls together... They had their numbers on their doors so they knew where each team mate was staying. 

Morning sleep in and iPad time. 

And the realization that we need a bigger  with both boys plaing rep!

And the hotel... The boys loved the water slide and mini stick room. The Parents didn't love that one of our rooms had bed bugs!

Last but not least... The antics! Underwear and a note from the winning team!! 

Great start to the season for this hockey guy!

Griffin had a great hockey weekend! First his team took on Oshawa yesterday and came out on top 5-3. Not to mention he played awesome!!  

Today he played Cobourg at home and not only won 6-1 but got his first goal!

Awesome effort, and hustle from this little guy!

Hockey boys!

Griffin had his first official league hockey game on the weekend. Boy was it ever an exciting game! He was playing Ajax and it was an evenly matched game and a lot of fun to watch. They didn't end up winning but it wasn't for lack of trying! Should be an exciting season. 

Owen received his team uniform this weekend and couldn't wait to try it on! Looking good!

Hockey Parents

We went out Saturday to support our friends son Ryan's hockey team! Great dinner, fun silent auction and even better company!!

Hockey Hall of Fame

On the weekend we headed to the Hockey Hall of Fame. This was one of our "things to do" this summer!

Who knew Habs day would be so crazy?? When we arrived we went to the entrance just to be greeted by 500 hundred ahead of us in line!! All that for a special Carey Price jersey game card. 

The boys had a great time. Lots to look at and a few games to participate in. 

Griffin was excited to get this picture for grandpa the biggest Habs fan!

We read Owen a book about the rocket and about a boy who had to change his hockey number and why Wayne Gretzky changed his number from 9 to 99. It was a great book and helped Owen changing from his number 15 to 55 this year. 

Owen was very intrigued seeing the rockets real jersey. 

After we went to the old spaghetti factory. I hadn't been there since I was a kid and we thought the boys would enjoy it! 

At the end the boys got their picture with the Stanley cup!

Tyke Hockey

I took the opportunity to snap over a hundred pictures of Owen's hockey this weekend. He has had such a wonderful season, with a wonderful group of boys that I am sure it is a memory he will keep with him for years to come and pictures for him to look back.

Owen is a great hockey player... so much potential, spirit and drive. Sunday mornings have become a favourite time of the week for me. I am loving watching his hockey games... Yep, a hockey mom!

Owen has made a great friend this year on his hockey team. Duncan and Owen have had many play dates, including a night out to the Bulls game, and a day skiing together.
So many firsts for Owen this year... a delight to watch him grow!

Owen was pumped to play at the Bull's Game last night, and boy did he play well. I have never seen him skate so hard and have the drive to win!
Unfortunately, they only allowed the boys to play for 2:49minutes, and in that short time Owen's team did not score. Owen was bummed.

I think the hot dog, slurpee and souvenir helped to cheer him up!

Hockey at 7am ?????

Yep, Owen has started hockey and he loves it! Tony is coaching his team and I think he was in for a bit of a surprise to find out three quarters of his team could barely stand up on their skates!

It has been really fun watching Tony getting ready for his first game. I bet he has had a least for different sets of hockey equipment home, making sure he bought just the right fit. I can really see how much it means to him to have his son playing hockey. Tony usually doesn't get excited over anything but this is sure is different. Hockey is very special to him and sharing it with his son is really special.

Do you think Owen will feel the same way when I have to drag him to dance class??? HA!
