Merry Christmas!

On Christmas eve, there are a few traditions that the boys really look forward to.  Each year, both sets of grandparents come over as well as our neighbours.  After dinner and a Christmas movie (usually Christmas Vacation), the kids come upstairs and make Magical Reindeer Food.   You can see the recipe below.  We then go outside and sprinkle the magical food on the lawn in hopes that the reindeer will stop in to refuel and leave behind a surprise.

We haven't figured out how the reindeer do it, but sometime after being fed they sneak inside the boys room (and neighbours too), and leave behind a Christmas eve surprise.  Most years, the boys receive new pjs, a Christmas story and a stuffie.

This year was no different, you can see Owen wearing his hockey pjs,
and holding his new reindeer stuffie!

After finding their reindeer surprise, the boys prepare their treats for Santa and of course some carrots for the reindeer too.

They are placed by the stockings, waiting for Santa to find them when he arrives.
The final tradition to be completed for the evening is to leave the Santa's magic key on the front door, to allow him to get in!

Finally, the boys are tucked in and ready to fall asleep and wait for Santa to arrive!

 Merry Christmas to all!
