I Believe

At bed time Owen loves to have one of us sing to him to the song "I Believe" from the Olympics changing the lyrics to be about him.

Last night I stood outside his bedroom while Tony was putting him to bed and I heard Owen tell him he was going to sing to him tonight.

The song went like this:

I believe that daddy wants a nice truck
I believe mommy wants my kisses
I believe mommy and dad are the best
I believe that they got married
and that is cool
there wedding picture is cool
I believe that daddy is the best hockey coach
I believe mommy is a great watcher
I believe daddy is the best animal rescuer
I believe daddy loves to go to work when
I go to school and Griffy goes to Nancy’s
I believe I love my mommy and daddy

Love it!

Owen'isms'

Owen has been saying the funniest things lately.

For instance, while we were having dinner one night, he was asked if he wanted a popsicle or ice cream and he replied "x-nay on the ice cream, I want a popsicle".
Are you kidding me, what four year says x-nay!!

While driving to school one day last week, Owen was discussing his upcoming birthday party. He told me he was going to have a pet party and that only people with pets could come. So, I asked him if his brother could come and he said "sure, he's in the family so he can come, but if he wasn't in the family he couldn't come!"

Tony announced to Owen that Marci was coming to visit last Thursday. Owen said "aha, I know what she is coming here for, she just wants your coffee dad!"

When Owen grows up he wants to be a "stranger"

Owen has had many questions about being a father lately, finally he announced "When I grow up, I don't want to get married, I just want to be a plain old dad!"

His favourite colour is black...

And he wipes off my kisses at the bus!

Too Funny!

Surprise Party

Last night my neighbourhood girlfriends surprised me with a birthday party... yes me!! Not too many people are able to pull a surprise off on me, but they did it, and I LOVED it!!!

As much as I love planning a party, its also great to have one thrown for you as well. Thank you to my good friend Jen that did most of the planning while nearly giving birth to the two 6 pound boys in her stomach!!

Love this neighbourhood, love my friends.
Thanks ladies!

So Much Fun!!

Tony and I waivered (he more than I) as to whether we really wanted to drive 16 hours with these two kids.... we were pleasantly surprised at how well they behaved on the drive!!! I had 2 tricks up my sleeve that really helped. 1. Headphones for the dvd players (seriously, it took me 4 years to figure this one out!) 2. Plastic Easter eggs filled with a small animal and treat that were given to the boys every 30 minutes or so if they were well behaved!! This worked like a charm! The journey was actually fun! There were lots of things to look at along the way, and different restaurants to stop at (cracker barrel, being at the bottom of the barrel). The weather gradually got warmer and warmer until we arrived in Myrtle beach with our windows down enjoying 20degree weather. Our resort was fantastic, an indoor water park in each tower, and right on the beach. We have two beach boys. They could have literally spent the entire time searching for shells, and playing in the sun. Shell searching was Owen's favourite part of the trip. We bought both of them treasure boxes to bring home their favourite shells in.

My Highlights of the trip:
-Alligator Adventure
-Ripley's Aquarium
-2 outlet malls... I repeat 2 outlet malls
-Stickey Fingers
-wearing sandals
-18 different mini golf courses
-shell searching

Tony's Highlights of the trip:
-shopping
-16 hours of driving
-sleeping in the double bed
-staying in during nap times

Would we do it again???
Absolutely!!

The Journey Home

Myrtle Beach reached a high of 21 degree on the day we were leaving. Most days were a warm 15-16 degrees. Warm enough for sandals and a light sweatshirt. On the day we were leaving it was HOT!! Figures!!

It was also my birthday. I spent my birthday in the car for more than 10 hours of driving. But it was fun!! We stopped at Hardees for lunch (don't recommend it) and later at Ruby Tuesday for dinner. The boys sang to me, we just had a great time.

We made our final stop in Hershey PA, ready for to check out Hershey World the next morning! Like I said, I couldn't ask for anything more :)
