NKOTB!!

Anyone who knows me, knows I love New Kids on the Block!  On June 20th, NKOTB were coming to Toronto and I had tickets!  Nicole and I headed to the concert and it was a blast!

Nothing like an arena full of 40 year old woman reliving their childhood!

The band always puts on an AWESOME concert!  Playing lots of their old tunes with a mix of some new ones.  The best part is always how interactive they are with the crowd. They are always going from stage to stage to stage, standing in the crowd and singing.  I didn't have good seats so unfortunately we weren't close enough to them.

Boys to Men and Paula Abdul opened for them and although I didn't really care if I saw them or not, but they were really good!  

We had a great night singing and dancing to all the tunes!  

Father's Day!

Father's day at our household was busy!  We had father's day all jumbled in with Owen's birthday party and three ball hockey games!  I didn't even get to see my own father until the following weekend!

Luckily, the boys were still able to celebrate with their dad and showered him with gifts!  He received an electric toothbrush and some "MAN SCRUB!!!"  Owen couldn't believe his eyes when his teacher told them they were going to be making man scrub for their dads!  Obviously this has become a running joke for these three!  

Happy Father's day to this guy!  So lucky to have him as the father of my boys!

Slime Entrepeneur

Griffin decided he wanted to make some slime, and then he decided he wanted to sell his slime.  Being the little entrepreneur he is, off to the store we went to gather supplies.  Marketing and packaging were important.  We developed cool names, added glitter to Unicorn Delight, added an army guy to Battlefield, made a cool Shark attack slime, poisonous ants, princess power and more. Griffin's personal favourite was Llama spit!  

He took them to school and sold a whole bunch and had orders waiting to be filled!  His brother helped him develop the idea of a limited edition slime that he could charge an extra buck for... Lava Shark with red splattered into the Shark Attack.

Business was booming until competition starting making slime too!  What a great lesson in trademarking your product!

Can't wait to see what he develops next!

An Afternoon in the County!

 We decided to head to the county on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon in June.  We were wanting to check out the beach, as we had heard that the flooding had really taken a toll on the beach.  We arrived to find that the beach was indeed open but the water was much further up then it normally is.  There is only a third of the sandy beach available.  They are forecasting the water won't resume normal levels until the end of July.  Rain and flooding has really taken a toll on our area.

Owen was glad to be back to his happy place.  We all love the beach but especially this boy!

After we headed to play mini putt!  As you can see Griffin was having a really good time!  

Our last stop was to Slicker's Ice Cream.  Possibly the best ice cream in the county!  Home made flavours including campfire marshmallow, apple pie and Owen's favourite Jazzberry!

Provincial Ball Hockey

Road trips are the norm around here for sports, but we normally take the summers off for travel sports.  This year Owen was selected to play for the provincial ball hockey team.  Every other year he had been asked, we were able to avoid it, but the coach asked him personally this year, so off we go to our first away game of the season!

As always, Owen played well!  Earning his spot in the first line.

On route, Owen was talking about summer.  Love that he loves the beach as much as me!

Griffin and I made the trip memorable with a stop to Hollywood Cone!

Friyay!

I love my Friyay shirt!  I thought I would get called out for wearing it every Friday, but the week I didn't wear it, all the students wanted to know where my Friyay shirt was!

Terrific Kid

Griffin was the Terrific Kid in May for the character trait Responsibility!  This award is very fitting for Griffin because he i a very responsible student!  Griffin always does well at school!  We are very proud of him!  Congratulations Griffin!

His best friend Evan also received a Terrific Kid award!  He is very lucky to have such a good buddy that is also a good student!
