And the season is over....
This boy loves hockey, his team and his coach!
The boys played their hearts out this past weekend only to see their playoff comeback come to an end.
Going into their third game with 2 losses they came back and tied and then won the next game! It was like we were watching a different group of kids.
Coach said if they won pizza was on him. They all headed to Pizza Hut after the big win!
Unfortunately, even with their face paint, they lost and their season is over.
The tears said it all. This boy loves hockey and plays with heart.
Congratulations on playing some of your best hockey this season Owen!
Love Mom and Dad!

Snow day!
Today we had 35cm of snow fall!
Buses were cancelled, and the boys were ecstatic to stay home.
They spent the morning with Jenny and the boys (thank you!)
Luckily schools were closed just before 1pm and I was able to spend the rest of the day with them.
Snow forts
Shoveling
Maple sugar taffy
Playing with friends
Fun day at home!
A real Canadian winter day was just what we needed!
Taylor Swift is Perfect For Me!
Owen has recently declared his love for Taylor Swift! Today he gave me a list of three reasons why they should be a couple.
They have 3 things in common:
1. They both sing well (bite tongue!)
2. They both have good hair
3. They are both funny!
Well at least he's not vain :)

Play offs have started!
Hockey isn't for everyone. We hear lots of comments about how much hockey our kids play, and the sacrifices or events the kids miss out on because of hockey. But it's really not all about the hockey it's about what hockey/team sports teach our kids.
This weekend I was reminded of this. Griffin played his first play off game. We've been on him lately about putting his best effort forward and working hard. Griffin had a great game. Not because he scored but because he showed he had listened and worked hard.
His team won. But Griffin won too! Hockey builds skills and character that he might not be exposed to elsewhere.
Hockey also allows this happen.
Griffin has great role models through hockey. We couldn't ask for a better coach and role model for our son and be more appreciative of him taking time to send Griffin a message that put a huge smile on his face.
So yes, we may be on the run all the time, and we may not get to spend enough time with family on special occasions, but we make an effort and we hope that the greater good will be worth it in the long run.

Ski Day
I went skiing with my school yesterday and I was lucky enough to take Owen with me too!
Owen's hockey buddy is in my class so it worked out perfect for him.

My Dad turned 70!
We celebrated my dads birthday on Saturday!
Happy Birthday Dad!
Owen and Griffin helped me choose his presents; tim Hortons gift cards, scratch tickets and candy! All of grandpas favorite things!
Owen insisted grandpa choose the restaurant but I think he was really trying to persuade him into one of his favorites :) we went to the Keg where he dined like a king!
Happy Birthday Dad!

Griffin's First Sleepover
Griffin hasn't wanted to try a sleepover until recently. I think his best buddy having a sleepover party was the push he needed!
I wasn't sure if he'd make it through the night. He's a bit of a mommas boy. Thanks to Evans mom, he made it through his first sleepover with lots of tails to share when he returned home!
Next step... Sleep away camp this summer!
