An End of an Era

Our city has been struggling the past few weeks with the news of our OHL team being sold and moving.  I'm not sure anybody just yet knows the affect this is really going to have on our hockey town and more importantly our children.  We sit here on Easter Monday, and really there isn't all that much to do in Belleville.  One thing this town had was the Belleville Bulls and now it is gone.

Our kids are the ones that are going to lose the most.  From all the extras they were able to do with their team to going with their buddies Wednesday or Saturday night to watch the Bulls play.
Just this past month, Griffin's team went on the Bulls bus to their game in Pickering.  It was probably for them the highlight of the season.  This opportunity is now gone.
Owen attended the Bulls skating sessions on Tuesday night for development from the Bulls coach and players.  This too is gone.  The Bulls coming into my class to read and play hockey with the students is also gone.  This is a hit much harder to take when you sit and think of all the great opportunities the boys have had because of the Bulls!

We purchased tickets for all of the games that remained including the first round of playoffs.  I'm glad we were able to let the boys enjoy these last few games. The feeling at the rink on these nights was full of emotion. For my boys, there was sadness and still joy in seeing the Bulls play!
Go Bulls Go!!

Thank you Bulls!
