Elliot has Returned!

Our favourite elf has returned.  We woke up Friday morning to discover that Elliot had returned and he was wearing a new Super Hero costume!  His friends the reindeer and St. Bernard had also returned and the dogs were wearing new clothing too!

It is always tradition that Elliot leaves a letter and a small gift on December 1st and then visits each night after.

This is probably Owen's favourite part about Christmas!  He just loves his elf and friends.
It is a lot of fun to see where Elliot is going to pop up each night!

My Little Artist does it Again!

Griffin just loves his art class and this time he created a really unique piece of art that he just can't wait to hang up!

Decorating the Christmas Tree!

We spend Sunday morning decorating the Christmas tree and even Gizmo got in on the action.  Gizmo loves climbing the tree and destroying the ornaments.  And of course he loves my pretty tree the most.  I can't keep the tree skirt on to save my life, he is constantly pushing it off!

The boys and I had fun decorating, and listening to Christmas songs. Owen couldn't wait to put the Santa on the top.

I love telling the boys stories about each of the ornaments.  Our tree has a collection of gifts from my students, ornaments from our travels and ornaments that the boys have made over the years!

This is one of our favourite Christmas traditions!

Gingerbread House Decorating!

Griffin and his buddy Jacob had a whole day together before we left for their game in North Durham.  They spend time making this Gingerbread House.
They had a lot of fun decorating it and sampling the candies too!

Braces for Owen

We went for our appointment with the orthodontist to learn about Owen getting braces.  Boy did we get way more than we bargained for!  Not only does he need braces, but he also needs a fence to correct his tongue movement which will hopefully also help his speech and then on top of that we found out that one of his 12 year old molars is blocked by a cyst and he needs surgery to remove it.  Hopefully it will then correct itself and grow in properly.  Poor kid, seems like a lot of dental work to straighten teeth.

You can see in this xray that his front teeth and roots are pushed forward by his tongue.  This needs to be corrected.

You can also see his molar coming in crooked.

This is the fence to correct his tongue movement.

Santa Letters Complete!

The boys spent a Sunday afternoon writing their letters to Santa.  Top on Owen's list is Hockey Cards.  Just Hockey Cards!

Griffin wants Lego, a basketball game like at arcades (good luck Santa), and the list goes on!  Both of them have Belleville Senator Jerseys on their list as well!

Owen's Hockey Tournament

Owen played in the Peterborough tournament in November.  The team had a great outing, and went all the way to the semis, losing by 1 goal.  It is amazing to see how far this team has come, from losing game after game for years, to being a team to contend with!  Each tournament they have made it to the play offs and they are winning and dominating in their league play.

Congratulations to Owen for winning MVP and for his hard work and effort paying off.  He has become a great hockey player.  This boy's future is very bright!
