French Onion Chip Dip

French Onion Chip Dip

Just made this from Pinterest this weekend... Yum!!

French Onion Chip Dip

Yield: 3 1/2 cups
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time:

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons canola oil
1 tablespoon butter
2 large Vidalia onions, diced
2 cups reduced fat sour cream
1 cup reduced fat mayonnaise
1 teaspoon Nature’s Seasoning (see note below)
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Worcestershire
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
salt to taste

Directions:

1. In a large saute pan over medium to medium-high heat (adjust to your cook top), add oil and butter. When butter is melted, add onions and saute stirring often until golden brown and caramelized, about 30-35 minutes. This may take less time depending on the size of your onions and your cook top. Set aside to cool to room temperature.
2. Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, Nature’s Seasoning, Worcestershire, salt and pepper. Fold in onion mixture. Chill at least 1 hour or overnight, prior to serving.

Notes:

- If you don't have Nature's Seasoning, you can substitute celery salt. However, I highly recommend Nature's Seasoning, it's good stuff.
- Store dip in an airtight container within the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

My Little Bike Rider

Griffin is officially a two wheel bike rider!
Daddy spent lots of time this weekend running up an down the sidewalk until Griffin got the hang of it.
Someone was really proud and gaves a thumbs up!

A special picture of daddy and Griffy!

Skylanders Birthday Invitations

Owen has decided on a Skylanders Birthday Party this year!  First step was creating the invitations.  I really liked the idea of making them into VIP passes to the party.  I created the invitation, laminated, and attached with a lanyard.

To deliver them, we created labels for envelopes that said
VIP
Portal Master
"Name"

I used some ink to make the envelopes rustic
looking and they were ready to deliver.
Owen's and his friends were thrilled with the invites!!

Soccer Season

The boys love soccer!  Griffin is moving up to the big leagues this year and he is ready to go.  First hurdle, getting Griffin to play when dad isn't the coach this year.
Oh, and this year he has requested that mommy not cheer so loud, its embarrassing!  Seriously!
We moved Owen to an all boys team this year to give him a little bit more competition.  Boy what a difference and what a bunch of characters!
Remind me to tell you about the "swearer".

Whatcha been Pinning?

I love seeing what people have been pinning lately on Pinterest.  I have a friend that is always pinning stuff for her classroom, another who pins great recipes, and you can usually tell if a kids birthday party is coming up!

Can you tell what inspired me on Pinterest lately?
SUMMER!
I found some fun idea for games, last day of school treats for the boy's classmates, a summer bucket list and fun ice cream treats for a hot day!
Count down is on!
