Brotherly Love

It isn't too often that I can say these two get along.  In fact, they often don't.  Griffin adores his big brother, and well Owen thinks Griffin is a pest!  But for this past week, these two have been best pals.  Owen has been wonderful with Griffin, helping him at the ski hill, playing with him and even giving him a hug!
Love it!

Opening Day at the Ski Hill

We took the boys skiing on opening day at the ski hill!  They were very excited to ski, but after the first run down the hill Griffin decided his new ski boots were too tight and wanted nothing to do with it!  Unfortunately for him, he had to persevere and persevere and love it he did!  Griffin is a great little skier.
Hopefully next time they will have more runs open!

Owen didn't have any problems at all.  He loved getting back at it, but wasn't too thrilled that there was only one hill for him to ski down.  Next time... watch out!

Hockey Tournament

Owen played in his first hockey tournament this past week.  We woke up to a snow storm and needed to be to the arena bright and early.  Fortunately the tournament was in town and we didn't have to travel too far.
In between games, the boys hung out and ate pizza!
We were down two players by the last game and lost 4-3.
They came home with the bronze medal and lots of great memories.
Highlight of the game for Owen.... first ever Hat Trick!
Way to go Owen!  We have never seen so much determination and great play.  Very proud of this little guy!

Merry Christmas

Christmas Day has come and gone.  This year we decided to slow the boys down opening their presents.  Santa left us a letter that came with a list of who opened their presents and in which order.  It was wonderful to see Owen slow down and watch other people opening their gifts, taking pictures,
and sharing in the fun of giving.

Owen loved his Furby and Griffin loved his Ninja Turtles and sewer. Seeing their smiles made all of the hard work worth it.

Christmas was wonderful, but I have to admit I still like the lead up to the day the most.  I love the shopping for presents, Christmas parties, visiting Santa, Christmas crafts, baking, wrapping, decorating, visiting friends, advent calendars, Elliot the Elf, Christmas cards, Christmas books every night before bed, carols, and everything else associated with the season!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Christmas Eve

Owen leaving treats for Santa on Christmas Eve

Every Christmas Eve we have a tradition of making Magic Reindeer food and sprinkling it on the front lawn for the reindeer to eat when they stop on their route.  The boys know that if the reindeer have time, they will sneak in and leave a treat for them in their bedroom.  This  year the reindeer left both of the boys new pj's, a book, a new musical toothbrush and a treat!
Griffin and I decorate sugar cookies for Santa!
They were beautiful!
And of course we left chocolate milk as a special treat!

Family Skating at City Hall

We decided to head to Kingston yesterday to go skating at city hall. Love that they have an outdoor ice rink with Christmas songs playing.

We also stopped for lunch at Five Guys.  If you haven't been,
its a great little burger joint world famous!

A quick stop to Costco and we were home bound just in time
for a Holiday party at our neighbours.  A great day!

A Night Out with Friends

A limo ride, dinner at Earl and Angelos, and a great time with friends!
We got together with Jen and Brad, and Jody and Lorne to celebrate the holidays on Saturday night!  We had a great time!
