Weekend
Jammed Packed Weekend!
This weekend was jam packed with fun adventures! We headed out to Darien Lake with our friends Anthony and Jaime to ride some coasters, have funnel cake and sing along with NKOTB. I am actually almost embarrassed to share this information, but nonetheless I had a blast.

The next day we headed to Canada's Wonderland to hit the splash park.... to our dismay it wasn't open, but we did have a blast in the kids zone!

Mini-Artist
Mini Artist
I have tried to teach Owen to write his name, I have tried to teach Owen to do circles, I have tried to teach Owen to draw people. He just won't have it! Seriously, I try to explain to him, that his mom is a teacher, this is what she does, now let her teach you..... Not a chance. He is stubborn and wants to do it on his own at his own time and doesn't want to be told what to do. Honestly, where did he get this from :)

Last week he decided he wanted to draw..... and look for the first time ever he drew people! I was so excited! Not to mention they were pretty good. The top picture is of me. I think I look pretty good. Lovin' that I don't have hips!

Soccer Night
Owen was pumped for his first soccer game last night. He put the uniform on. He stood for pictures. He stretched. He warmed up. He couldn't stop hugging his dad/coach on the field. He was more excited than I have ever seen him before. And then he was told he wasn't playing on the first line..... and you know what happened next.....
he was absolutely CRUSHED! My heart broke. I can't even begin to tell you how sad I felt for Owen. If you know Owen at all, you know it takes him awhile to warm up to new experiences which is one of the reasons Tony decided to coach Owen's team this summer, just to make sure Owen would be okay. Yes, I know he can't always go first, but if ever there was a time, this was it. Thirty minutes later.... Owen had started to come around. He got out on the field, moped a little but by the end of it he had a blast. He was sooooo excited to play.
I absolutely love this picture of him running during the game. So cute! On the way to the game, Owen had asked me not to cheer because he didn't want me to embarrass him.... can you believe that??? LOL only three and already not wanting to be embarrassed. So he agreed that I could cheer quietly :)
By the end of the game, he was loving it! Here is a picture of Owen and his team doing a cheer at the end of the game right before freezie time.
I printed this picture out for Owen this morning, and it hasn't left his hands. In fact he is sleeping with it right now. Owen, soccer and his best buddy Zach. Could life get any better at 3!

Soccer Hype
Soccer Boy

Owen starts soccer next week and he is soooo excited! Last night he was given his jersey (green his favourite colour), shorts and socks. He didn't want to take it off. If he could have he would have slept in it. He sort of did, it laid beside him in bed. The first thing asked this morning was to wear his jersey to the babysitters.
Owen has some great teammates. In fact we know almost everyone on the team. All of the neighbours on the team were having their first practice in our backyard last night. They had a blast.

Even better he has a GREAT coach....his dad and is proudly wearing his daddy's number: 15!

Its exciting to start this new chapter with Owen....sports, teams, sportsmanship, and growing up (scary). I hope does well. We are concerned that Owen will be reluctant at first as he often is with new experiences. We hope he does well, but more importantly that he has fun! Am I a soccer mom already? Let the games begin!
