Deep Sea Fishing

Last night we went on a chartered deep sea fishing adventure!

Excited to catch fish, we were also thrilled to see 2 whales and 1 seal.

The boys loved catching the mackerel and cod! Cod weren't biting too much but griffin managed to catch one for us to bring home.

Owen was slow to start but then caught lots of mackerel!

On the ride home watching the sunset I had said to tony that they evening could only get better if we saw a whale right under the sunset. Sure enough minutes later a whale popped out of the ocean!

Another wonderful evening spent in PEI!

We Made it to PEI

Yesterday we arrived in PEI! This is our fourth year returning. It seems to have become our summer home.

Our first stop was at COWS ice cream. Even the boys agree that COWS needs to be the first place we visit!

We then headed to Chelton Beach as we were told it was a great beach. We walked the red sands and decided this beach would be on our list of places to visit.

Next we headed to Kensington to visit the Haunted House. Really not very scary but really well done. The boys had the most fun at the arcade.

We then headed to Avonlea Village and discovered it had changed. No more characters it is now shops and restaurants. The boys were bummed but thankfully we had visited the three years before.

We checked into our cottage which never disappoints. Blue shutters this year, the boys were thrilled as we have now had each of the three colors.

After a quick swim we got ready to go to Charlottetown to see the Anne of green gables musical. Even though we had seen it before we all still loved it. I thanked the boys for indulging me after the show and Owen said your welcome and I enjoyed it too!  I love that they love Anne too!!

Our next adventure tomorrow will be  cavendish  beach to build sand castles with Maurice Bernard.

Hopewell Rocks

Yesterday we spent the day in Moncton New Brunswick on route to PEI for our summer vacation.

We spent most of the day at Magic Mountain water park. Probably the best day of the summer with a high of 33degrees.

It was packed but we had a lot of fun!

Later we drove up to Hopewell rocks for an unplanned adventure that couldn't have worked out better.

We learned that if you arrive after 7:30 pm it's free and if you park outside the park you can stay as long as you want.

Even better hardly anyone was there because the park was closed so we were able to get pics without a crowd.

This place really is cool!

Day at the Dunes!

On Friday we headed to the Dunes with the Osmonds. We met at their boat and headed over to the Dunes for a swim and bbq lunch.

Lisa and me posing at the dunes for a selfie!

The kids also got to go tubing.... One of their favorite summer activities.

Some fishing.... Until a fishing pole was lost :)

And then the kids went swimming in the waves in Lake Ontario.

After we headed back to their trailer and had dinner, ice cream and a camp fire!

A perfect summer day! Thanks for the fun Osmonds! Your hospitality was greatly appreciated!

Soccer Tournament

Yesterday we spent the entire day at the soccer field to watch both boys tournaments!

And can I say, boy was it hot!

The boys played hard and really wanted the win.

In this tournament there were no scores it was just for fun.

I'm not quite sure what happened to competition and teaching kids it's ok to win and lose. We certainly aren't preparing these kids for their future when they will have to be able to handle loss.

Never the less the both were victorious!

Drive In!

We headed to the Drive In this past weekend. This was on our bucket list for the summer and we picked the perfect night!

The Lees joined us to watch Pixels. The kids had a blast. One request they had this summer was getting there early enough to play before the movie began.

Even the big kids had fun too! The movie was a throw back to the 80's and very funny!

We just might be able to squeak one more in this summer!
